Event Details
In the spring 2023 semester, Assistant Professor Nassim Parvin offered a Computational Media Capstone Project that culminates in a digitally augmented experience broadly driven by explicit engagement with questions of social justice. The final projects will be displayed on the Arts Plaza during the last week of the Tech Arts Festival, with the creators available to discuss their work.
The projects include: EnRoot, which tells the story of the Wood Wide Web, a network of trees, their roots, and the fungi that populate them; Habitat Reflections, where viewers can reflect on the impacts of deforestation on the habitats of animals; and SeaThrough, a project that exemplifies the current state of our Earth’s bodies of water and how they are filled with plastic.
