Zimbabwean stone sculpture signed M. Kennedy, possibly Kennedy Musekiwa (b. 1962). 

This is one of three pieces of African stone sculpture from the Shona tribe of Zimbabwe that now grace the campus. My Good Family is in the lobby of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts, Guiding Spirit is located in the North Avenue Dining Hall, and Zimbabwe Bird is located in the Wenn Student Center near Burdell's. The sculptures are gifts from the collection of Caroll B. and Peter M. Shannon.
